Hi! I’m Yemzy…

I have been blogging on and off since 2014 and I have been stumbling and struggling to find my feet in life since then. 5 years ago I got married, moved continents, became a homeowner and learned a lot about myself along the way (mostly learning about how little I knew myself this whole time. Cliché). I’ve been learning a few new languages, navigating a new labour market and every year I choose tertiary education as my preferred form of torture since receiving my bachelors education 8 years ago. Most importantly, 2025 is the year I turn 30 and I want to make sure I make the most out of this new decade.

Here you will find a blog about whatever it is I feel like sharing. Though, at the moment, I am embarking on a PhD and so intend on mostly sharing my experiences with that. So, this blog is about navigating academia and everything else in between.
