I never really knew exactly how to do a literature review but over the past few months, I have picked up on some helpful tips.
- Write out your research title
- Pick out keywords/nouns from your title
- connect the nouns that you have picked out with the literature that you are reading and focus on what you want the literature to tell you based on each noun.
- when reading literature, pick out the research question, the answer to the question and the extent to which the literature helps you to understand specific elements of your paper.
- Then survey the questions that have been answered and that have not been answered and your way forward…decide on which questions you want to continue tackling/developing.
…and voila…you should have decent review that will help you find research gaps and angles for your paper.
